Here is the official poster for the 2nd Irish Ukulele Festival UKULELE HOOLEY BY THE SEA to be held in the wonderful seaside venue of the borough of Dunlaoghaire on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday August 20/21st . (The poster was designed by our good fiend wonderful graphic designer Eri Noguchi, with a lot of hard work and creative input from our own Nora Artola)

The festival will be happening over the Saturday and Sunday and there will be Ukulele Workshops by some of Europes best players, A seaside ukulele busk that will happen in various locations including on the bandstand on the Pier! but the whole weekend will culminate in a wonderful free Open Air Ukulele Concert in the People’s Park on Sunday 21st.

We will have a fantastic bill of International and Irish ukulele players and bands and you will be able to find a lot more information on the official Ukulele Hooley website in the next few days!

Can’t believe the way the word has spread already, the Kingston Hotel (on the seafront) has already had a large amount of bookings for the festival from ukulele players coming from abroad and of course Ireland too.

This is an opportunity for the Irish Ukulele Community to fly the flag for “The Little Instrument With A Big Heart”

Vedder brings his ukulele to ‘Late Show’

David Letterman is a self-professed longtime fan of Pearl Jam and frontman Eddie Vedder. There’s no shortage of YouTube clips of the band and/or Vedder appearing on the “Late Show” over the years ….
So no surprise that in the midst of his much-publicized foray into ukulele music — with the new solo album “Ukulele Songs” — Vedder was back at the Ed Sullivan Theater on Monday night.
Enjoy a clip of Vedder performing on the tiny instrument. And props to him for paying tribute to the late Clarence Clemons.
