Starting on Saturday February 9th is a six week ukulele course for beginners. It’s being run by Joe Byrne, known to many through UkuHooley. Joe (who has been playing stringed instruments for over forty years) is passionate about this course to introduce the ukulele to complete beginners.
The course will run for six consecutive weeks at the Dun Laoghaire Club, Eblana Avenue, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin and the total cost of the six lessons is €40. For bookings (essential) and enquiries email Joe at : jbyrne2473@gmail.com

Joe says of the course, “This series of classes is for beginners…if you would like to try Ukulele…. or if you have a few chords and tunes and are strumming along at home… but would like to learn a bit more and maybe reach the stage of playing along with others. No previous knowledge of music is needed at all. We will begin by seeing how the Ukulele works, getting tuned up, finding notes on the finger board and making chord shapes. We will learn how chords are constructed and some rhythm and strumming patterns.”
“I will help you with effective practice methods and how to avoid hand problems…oh, and yes, I nearly forgot, we will play a few tunes as well.
Remember we say that we “Play music”, that’s right PLAY
With the Ukulele this will be fun.”

Well done Joe and good luck. Will watch with interest.
